Responsibilities
- Build and operate real-time inference infrastructure for transaction authorization, including tight latency budgets and safe model and feature fallbacks.
- Own reproducible training, validation, feature, and deployment pipelines with point-in-time correctness and reduced training-serving skew.
- Implement model versioning, registries, shadow mode, champion/challenger testing, canary rollouts, evaluation gates, and one-click rollback.
- Monitor model latency, score distributions, feature drift, approval rates, fraud outcomes, and chargeback outcomes through the observability stack.
- Integrate and evaluate third-party fraud and risk models using parallel and shadow testing.
- Power data and scoring for merchant-facing risk products and merchant-configured blocking rules.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in MLOps, ML infrastructure, or ML platform engineering, ideally in fintech, payments, or another regulated environment.
- Production experience operating models with real latency and uptime requirements, preferably in real-time inference, transaction, or decisioning paths.
- Strong Python skills and production engineering habits, with the ability to read and write TypeScript and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with ML pipeline and model-serving tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex, BentoML, or Feast.
- Strong infrastructure skills with containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and at least one major cloud provider.
- Data engineering experience building reliable feature pipelines over operational, warehouse, and streaming data and understanding training-serving skew.
- Experience monitoring production models for drift and calibration and connecting model metrics to fraud loss and approval rates.
- Familiarity with fraud, risk, or credit modeling and explaining model behavior to banks, auditors, and other non-ML stakeholders.
- Comfort using AI-native tooling such as Claude Code or similar tools, or genuine interest in adopting them.
