Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support software applications for ICE Bonds platforms including BondPoint and ICE Select.
- Independently handle project activities related to application builds and deployments.
- Create software tests and verify application functionality and quality.
- Produce design documentation for new software development and subsequent versions.
- Provide production application support during and outside business hours as issues arise.
- Support deployments during maintenance windows.
- Identify opportunities to improve and optimize applications.
- Work with product management to understand new requirements.
- Collaborate with project and product managers, developers, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver trading platforms.
- Follow team guidelines and company software development processes and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience using Core Java.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Good understanding of object-oriented design and commonly used design patterns.
- Expertise in Core Java multithreading, collections, the JVM, and garbage collection.
- Experience with Spring, JPA, and RabbitMQ.
- Expertise architecting and designing event-driven distributed systems.
- Experience with Bash, Perl, or another scripting language.
- Strong communication skills, including technical writing and communication with technical and non-technical customers.
- Preferred: practical experience using agentic AI tools such as Copilot or Claude Code in the software development lifecycle.
- Preferred: experience with service-oriented architecture.
- Preferred: experience in financial services or fintech.
