Base Salary

$203k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and scale backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Postgres.
  • Implement highly distributed and resilient architectures in AWS and Kubernetes environments.
  • Create shared infrastructure services and developer tooling used across product teams.
  • Mentor teams on secure coding practices and help ensure performant, resilient code.
  • Use automated testing practices to maintain high-quality software.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams while independently owning project design and implementation.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience building scalable backend services at a B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS organization.
  • Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
  • Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Strong SQL knowledge, including Postgres and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred, while relevant experience and understanding are also valued.
  • Preferred experience includes AWS cloud infrastructure, AI best practices with Claude, GitLab pipelines, Debezium, Temporal, OpenTelemetry, brokerage platforms, and financial services.
