Responsibilities
- Design and build developer tools used by Amazon engineers.
- Work with programming languages and libraries to improve usability and reliability.
- Maintain build tools, compilers, package managers, and 3PSW repository mirrors.
- Collaborate with engineers across Amazon to identify pain points and develop solutions.
- Write code, review teammates’ code, and help debug tool-related issues.
- Lead architecture and design for new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Mentor engineers or lead an engineering team.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship software development experience is required.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
- Experience in software development within the last three years.
- Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team leader.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
