Responsibilities
- Analyze and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Create and maintain solution architecture artifacts, diagrams, design documentation, and decision records.
- Evaluate technology alternatives, trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and impacts.
- Ensure solution designs meet enterprise architecture, security, compliance, resilience, and operational standards.
- Support architecture governance, design reviews, and approval processes.
- Collaborate with business, product, engineering, infrastructure, platform, security, and operations teams to guide solution delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight from concept through implementation and production support.
- Define functional designs and application systems architecture across technologies and platforms.
- Design application technical infrastructure, including databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.
- Assess software defects identified during quality assurance and address enterprise platform and technology requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Typically 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of layered, event-driven, API-first, microservices, and cloud-native application architectures.
- Experience with the software development lifecycle, Agile delivery, DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in application integration patterns, APIs, messaging, service orchestration, and enterprise application interoperability.
- Experience producing solution, sequence, component, and deployment diagrams and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, orchestration, serverless technologies, and platform services.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, and secure application design.
- Knowledge of resiliency, availability, scalability, performance, maintainability, observability, and operational support considerations.
- Ability to perform impact and dependency analysis, identify risks and trade-offs, and recommend architecture decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills.
- Comparable combinations of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered in lieu of a degree.
