Responsibilities
- Define and own cloud security architecture patterns for IAM guardrails, network segmentation, encryption, secrets management, and secure landing zones.
- Own cloud policy-as-code, including custom policies, initiative assignments, and enforcement governance.
- Build IaC scanning, container image scanning, SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, and secrets detection into CI/CD pipelines.
- Review and remediate supply-chain risks involving GitHub Actions, MCP servers, and external connectors.
- Secure cloud-native and AI/ML workloads, including network isolation, model endpoints, API keys, and third-party integrations.
- Define least-privilege RBAC, conditional access, just-in-time privileged access, workload identity federation, and recurring access reviews.
- Tune Defender for Cloud recommendations and Sentinel analytics rules and contribute cloud-specific incident-response runbooks and training.
- Remediate CSPM, vulnerability, configuration, identity, and secrets findings directly through code and cloud configuration.
- Map Azure and AWS controls to SOC 2, PCI, and CIS Benchmarks requirements.
- Serve as the primary cloud security authority in architecture reviews and maintain cloud security documentation, reference architectures, and runbooks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of experience in cloud security, security architecture, or security-focused cloud infrastructure engineering, including senior- or principal-level experience.
- Expert hands-on experience securing Azure environments with Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, network security groups, and private endpoints.
- Working knowledge of AWS security services including IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Config.
- Experience reviewing and hardening Terraform, ARM, or Bicep infrastructure as code.
- Experience defining and enforcing CI/CD security gates covering SAST/DAST, container image scanning, dependency scanning, and secrets detection.
- Expert understanding of Entra ID, RBAC, least-privilege design, just-in-time access, and workload identity federation.
- Experience identifying and triaging cloud-specific security signals and transferring detection knowledge to incident-response teams.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Bash for security automation and remediation at scale.
- Strong executive communication skills and the ability to explain security risk and remediation priorities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience securing Databricks and Unity Catalog, container and Kubernetes security including AKS, AI/ML and LLM-adjacent infrastructure, compliance audits, and cloud security certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert, AWS Certified Security - Specialty, or CCSP.
