Base Salary
$249k - $348k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build high-performance packet-processing applications in C/C++ using DPDK and FD.io VPP.
- Develop and maintain Linux kernel modules, device drivers, and software interfaces for custom hardware, hardware accelerators, SmartNICs, and FPGA-offload engines.
- Debug system-level performance issues, minimize context switching, and tune networking stacks for satellite links.
- Implement secure boot, runtime security monitoring, and hardware-backed credential management across embedded platforms.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct deep-dive code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
- Support infrastructure for large distributed systems or device fleets at scale and troubleshoot to assembly-code and hardware-diagnostic levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or 10+ years of software development experience.
- At least 8 years of C or C++ experience in Linux or embedded environments.
- Deep Linux kernel knowledge, including driver development, memory management, and system-level debugging.
- Experience with GDB, perf, eBPF, and Buildroot, Yocto, Bazel, or comparable build systems.
- Proficiency with Rust or Python is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, Linux networking, and custom routing protocols is preferred.
- Experience with mission-critical aerospace, automotive, medical, or similarly high-reliability systems is preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or granted asylum.
