Responsibilities
- Provide technical sales and application support to field sales staff and customers for industrial automation products and services.
- Demonstrate products, prepare training and sales presentations, and develop demonstration systems.
- Size drives, motors, and peripheral devices and recommend products suited to customer applications.
- Develop, debug, and troubleshoot software programs for complex machinery, including servo and vector drive systems.
- Support technical support and field service activities through email, phone, ticket responses, and site visits.
- Visit OEM, distributor, integrator, and end-user accounts to gather technical information and provide application guidance.
- Mentor other sales and technical team members and contribute to departmental projects and processes.
Requirements
- Four-year technical engineering degree such as BSE, BSEE, BSEET, BSME, or BSMET, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum seven years of relevant engineering or selling experience involving automation solutions.
- Experience with drives and/or motion control is highly preferred, including PLCs and motion controllers.
- Proficiency programming motion-control applications with servo and vector drive systems.
- Familiarity with IEC 61131 programming platforms and experience implementing servo drives and VFDs.
- Familiarity with EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and PROFINET industrial communications protocols.
- Ability to work independently on moderately complex projects and communicate with internal teams, senior leadership, and external customers.
- Ability to travel 25–50% throughout the region, with occasional travel to other states and national sales meetings.
