Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications and microservices.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable code and contribute to coding, code reviews, refactoring, and automated testing.
- Apply TDD, BDD, unit testing, secure coding, vulnerability assessment, and security compliance practices.
- Support trunk-based development, feature flags, progressive delivery, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery.
- Partner with architects, product owners, DevOps teams, and cross-functional groups on scalable distributed systems and production resilience.
- Improve deployments, observability, performance, and production monitoring.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, and contribute to design documentation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java; working knowledge of C++ is a plus.
- Deep expertise in system design and microservices architecture.
- Experience with trunk-based development, feature flags, progressive delivery, TDD, BDD, automation, code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and secure coding.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and distributed systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of performance tuning, observability, and production monitoring is preferred.
- Proficient English is required; Japanese is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and ability to work in agile environments.
