Responsibilities
- Design and build backend microservices, GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations for retail and direct-to-consumer channels.
- Develop supporting frontend, administrative, and internal tooling surfaces as needed.
- Own end-to-end technical design and delivery for complex omnichannel integration domains.
- Maintain reliable near-real-time synchronization of orders, inventory, catalogs, pricing, and customer data.
- Handle integration failure modes, retries, idempotency, production debugging, and performance optimization.
- Conduct code reviews and champion automated testing, observability, documentation, and runbooks.
- Participate in on-call rotations and production incident response for critical retail systems.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and improve team engineering practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Solution Architects, QA, Data, and Production and Supply Chain teams.
Requirements
- 4–6+ years of experience in full stack or backend software development with strong backend fundamentals.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, omnichannel, or enterprise integration systems.
- Experience building APIs, GraphQL services, webhooks, and event-driven or asynchronous integrations.
- Comfort delivering supporting frontend or internal administrative interfaces using React, Vue, or an equivalent technology.
- Experience with RDS or NoSQL databases, including performance tuning, query optimization, and production debugging.
- Experience with code review, automated testing, documentation, incident troubleshooting, and production ownership.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Retail systems experience with POS, OMS, ERP, WMS, or payment gateway integrations is preferred.
- Experience with Shopify Plus, headless commerce, or custom commerce backends is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Linux, and Bash scripting is preferred; AWS certification is a plus.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and accountable for deadlines and production quality.
