Base Salary
$105k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize backend services that power machine learning-driven production features.
- Build backend systems that serve machine learning models with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Make model predictions observable and measurable for evaluation using technical and business metrics.
- Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to refine requirements and translate high-impact problems into technical solutions.
- Contribute to system design, architecture reviews, and code quality improvements.
- Diagnose issues across backend services, data pipelines, and model inference systems, including model performance and system behavior gaps.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and drive technical improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience with Python.
- Experience building high-performance or distributed systems.
- Experience deploying and serving machine learning models in production, including inference pipelines and backend integration.
- Experience evaluating model performance using precision, recall, or other business-relevant metrics.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, microservices, and observability, including logging and monitoring systems.
- Ability to work effectively under ambiguity in dynamic environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
