Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and operate reliable, scalable services for large-scale cloud deployment systems.
- Own features and technical areas from architecture through implementation, production rollout, and Live Site support.
- Redesign deployment capabilities and interfaces for human and AI-agent participation, including automation, observability, and safety mechanisms.
- Apply AI and agent technologies to automate deployment, validation, troubleshooting, mitigation, and related operational workflows.
- Build systems that allow AI agents to interact safely with deployment infrastructure and collaborate with humans or other agents.
- Diagnose distributed-system and production issues, identify systemic root causes, and implement durable solutions.
- Use metrics, telemetry, and data to improve deployment velocity, reliability, quality, and engineering effectiveness.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to define dependencies and interfaces and deliver solutions across services and technologies.
- Maintain engineering standards through design reviews, code reviews, testing, security, observability, and operational readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Preferred: master’s degree and 6+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience designing, developing, and operating distributed systems, cloud services, or large-scale backend platforms.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across system boundaries and complex production issues.
- Ability to independently drive significant technical projects from design through production.
- Experience using or building with AI, LLM, and agent technologies, or ability to rapidly apply them to engineering problems.
- Ability to design systems and interfaces safely consumable by humans and autonomous agents.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering teams.
