Responsibilities
- Design and implement Go services and components for cloud-based platforms.
- Develop and integrate internal and external APIs for sharing and using medical data.
- Write maintainable, modular, unit-testable code and participate in development, testing, delivery, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with InfoSec to design secure solutions and with data services, architecture, and other partners.
- Improve system performance, uptime, scalability, monitoring, and alignment with architectural goals.
- Build internal tooling and APIs that improve business and engineering processes.
- Create diagrams, flowcharts, and models describing solution designs and workflows.
- Contribute to technical planning, architectural decisions, innovation, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another relevant field.
- Software development experience, ideally with Go, and willingness to learn additional languages.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and software development experience.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and modular, unit-testable design.
- Understanding of complex asynchronous messaging and backend processing jobs.
- Understanding of Docker containers and orchestration services such as Docker Swarm, ECS, and Kubernetes.
- Experience using Git for source control on a collaborative project.
- Comfort working asynchronously with a distributed team.
- Preferred: experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Preferred: experience contributing to scalable, highly available, maintainable, and monitorable architectures.
- Preferred: familiarity with relational datastores such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Preferred: practical knowledge of Linux and experience with test-driven development.
