Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain software used across multiple King games and services.
Develop scalable backend services, APIs, event-driven systems, and reusable platform components.
Design integrations and data flows across player-support, game, and internal platform systems.
Own features through design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
Improve scalability, resilience, observability, reliability, and maintainability of existing systems.
Collaborate with Product Owners, designers, engineers, game teams, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to architecture, technical discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards.
Improve software quality through automation, testing, and continuous delivery.
Explore and integrate AI capabilities into player-support products, workflows, and internal tools.
Share knowledge and contribute to the engineering culture.

Professional software development experience, ideally with Java or another backend-oriented programming language.
Experience designing and building scalable backend services and APIs.
Knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.
Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance considerations.
Experience designing reliable system integrations and data flows.
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and code reviews.
Understanding of reliability, observability, monitoring, and operating production services.
Experience with cloud-based systems and modern deployment practices.
Ability to understand systems end-to-end, from user experiences and backend services to infrastructure and production operations.
Experience using AI capabilities or AI-assisted tools in software development or product delivery.
Effective collaboration and English communication skills.
Bonus qualifications include React or modern web development, AWS or other cloud platforms, Docker or Kubernetes, Kafka or other event-streaming platforms, shared platforms or developer tooling, AI-enabled products or workflows, C++, C#, Android or iOS development and deployment, and game development.
