Responsibilities
- Enhance and optimize Roku's observability stack to handle terabytes of data daily.
- Work with the Platform team to standardize and improve observability tools.
- Invest in making the observability platform more stable and reliable.
- Contribute new open-source tools and improvements to the CNCF ecosystem.
- Build automation around observability tools to simplify onboarding for developers.
- Partner with engineering teams to drive innovation and improve user experience.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering and/or DevOps, focusing on observability platforms.
- Proven experience designing and operating observability platforms that process large data volumes.
- Expertise in deploying and operating open-source observability tools at scale.
- Familiarity with open standards like OpenTelemetry, OpenTracing, and OpenMetrics.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes and Istio architectures.
- Strong collaboration skills to engage with customers and stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
- 4+ years of experience with programming languages such as Go or Python.
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
