Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and software build, test, integration, and deployment workflows.
  • Administer development platforms and engineering toolsets, including access, permissions, integrations, configurations, upgrades, and automation.
  • Maintain and standardise Linux-based development and build environments and supporting infrastructure.
  • Automate manual development, deployment, environment configuration, and administrative activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, development tools, networks, software environments, and connectivity.
  • Support the full software development lifecycle, version-control strategies, repository management, traceability, and engineering productivity.
  • Secure, patch, document, and maintain development systems and provide technical evidence for audits and compliance activities.
  • Partner with the Head of IT and engineering teams on infrastructure, cybersecurity, technology improvement, onboarding, and offboarding projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a similar technical role in a software or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Git, version-control workflows, CI/CD pipelines, scripting, automation, Linux, and command-line administration.
  • Experience administering development platforms such as JIRA, Git, Bitbucket, Confluence, or CI/CD systems.
  • Experience supporting development infrastructure, servers, associated services, and networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, documentation, ownership, and continuous-improvement skills.
  • Desirable experience with Atlassian tools, advanced Git administration, Bash, Python, PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, Docker, cloud platforms, build automation, artifact management, monitoring, logging, and observability.
  • Desirable familiarity with IAR Embedded Workbench, Altium Designer, ISO 27001, IEC 81001, Cyber Essentials, regulated or safety-critical environments, and security or compliance initiatives.

Benefits

  • Salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per year.
  • Flexible hybrid working policies and availability hours, with a 9:30am start option, flexible lunch timing, and early Friday finish when weekly hours are banked.
  • Full-time contract of 38 hours per week; anticipated to be office-based initially in Bristol with flexibility after settling into the role.
  • Occasional travel to Ireland, Poland, the USA, and other Ensera locations may be required, with some evening or weekend work on projects.
