Base Salary
$120k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Modernize middle-office applications, data ingestion platforms, distribution platforms, and legacy components.
- Build scalable data pipelines supporting growing data volumes and real-time processing.
- Improve platform performance, resilience, fault tolerance, operational stability, and observability.
- Optimize end-to-end data flows and enable API-driven, extensible services for flexible data access.
- Support high-quality, governed data flows for future analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate with product, client delivery, and operations teams to meet business and client commitments.
- Balance platform modernization with ongoing delivery to minimize disruption.
- Design and develop components of critical multi-tier systems.
- Mentor and influence team members.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience is required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Java Software Engineer delivering high-impact, scalable solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Java 17 or later, including concurrency and multithreading.
- Deep knowledge of Java SE/EE, Spring, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Hibernate, microservices, distributed systems, and API design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Spark, and IBM Message Queues for event-driven architectures.
- Strong database design and SQL experience with relational technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Docker, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, JUnit, BDD, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with Angular, HTML5, JavaScript, GraphQL, and front-end development.
- Experience with multi-tier systems and the ability to design and develop critical system components.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, mentoring, and influencing skills.
- Knowledge of tradeable financial products, security pricing, and global exchanges is a significant plus.
- .NET knowledge is helpful for asset migration but is not mandatory.
- Experience with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Windsurf is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Agile development tools including Confluence and JIRA is preferred.
