Base Salary
$180k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the data infrastructure and core data platform pipelines supporting underwriting and claims.
- Partner with data scientists and actuaries to translate business logic into production code and own the underwriting pipeline end-to-end.
- Build and improve the underwriting pipeline and API for fast, observable, and reliable operation.
- Build and maintain scalable ingestion pipelines for third-party claims data and enrichment logic for downstream analytics, underwriting, and operations.
- Architect and build company-wide data foundations for quoting, cost containment, member engagement, sales operations, finance, and clinical workflows.
- Establish standards for building, monitoring, and operating data systems, including SLAs, on-call practices, and monitoring.
Requirements
- Strong production experience building scalable data systems and pipelines, with deep proficiency in Spark, Databricks, and modern data-processing infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent.
- Fluency in SQL, PySpark, Python, and Git, with a focus on maintainable, high-quality code.
- Ability to own workstreams end-to-end with minimal oversight and improve team standards, reviews, and processes.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, including the ability to work with actuaries, operations, and clinical partners.
- Prior experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare or insurance is preferred.
- Experience supporting data science or actuarial teams in production environments is preferred.
