Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build and refine an evaluation harness and optimization loop to identify agent failure modes and improve prompts, tools, skills, and context.
- Run experiments balancing agent quality, latency, and cost, including fine-tuning open-weights models and deploying small language models.
- Launch agentic experiences for Merchants and Dashers from early exploration through production.
- Bring agentic memory, product representations, and post-trained small language model capabilities into production agents.
- Partner with engineering, product, and business leaders to define an ML-driven strategy for grocery and retail delivery.
Requirements
- 3+ years of industry machine learning experience, including hands-on experience building and shipping LLM-based agents with tool use, context management, prompting, guardrails, evaluations, and data.
- Experience with post-training or fine-tuning open-weights models, such as supervised fine-tuning, preference optimization, or reinforcement learning, ideally including small language models.
- Strong foundations in natural language processing and machine learning, with proficiency in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
