Responsibilities
- Ship features that help users develop real AI skills and measure capability growth rather than engagement.
- Architect end-to-end front-end and back-end prototypes exploring new interaction paradigms, with particular attention to motion, polish, and interaction feel.
- Define technical direction and establish reusable patterns for the team.
- Translate research insights about skill development and human-AI collaboration into shipped products.
- Build relationships across Product, Design, Research, and Engineering to influence broader product strategy.
- Shape team strategy and roadmap by identifying high-leverage opportunities and building stakeholder conviction.
- Document and communicate work through writing, prototypes, and presentations.
- Operate as a highly autonomous technical shop while providing technical guidance without immediate people-management responsibility.
Requirements
- 6+ years building and shipping web products with deep full-stack expertise.
- Strong front-end skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and CSS, with an eye for interaction design, motion, and visual detail.
- Back-end and data pipeline experience, including Python, API design, and analytics infrastructure.
- A portfolio demonstrating innovative interaction design and high-quality implementations.
- A track record of independently driving features from prototype to production.
- Strong product, user experience, prioritization, strategic leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity, rapid prototyping, user testing, and iterative product development.
- Experience or strong interest in skill development, HCI, developer tools, or products that increase human capability.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience with developer tools, creative tools, learning platforms, experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, analytics measuring capability development, research labs, frontier technology companies, or high-autonomy startups.
- Preferred: background in learning sciences, cognitive science, HCI, skill acquisition research, or educational psychology.
- Preferred: published writing, talks, or open-source work related to skill development, human-AI interaction, or product philosophy.
- Preferred: experience building AI-native product experiences or working with LLMs in production.
