Software Engineer II

$104k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable full-stack software applications for payroll and employee earnings products.
- Build high-performing solutions supporting tip pooling, wage calculation, earnings retrieval, and payroll delivery.
- Provide design feedback, participate in code reviews, and ensure implementations meet requirements.
- Participate in architectural discussions and influence the technical roadmap.
- Use AI tools to improve development workflow, velocity, and engineering approaches.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of backend experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Kotlin.
- Proficiency with modern web standards and technologies including React, TypeScript, REST, and GraphQL.
- Proficiency with traditional databases and alternative data stores.
- Experience delivering high-quality, reliable services to production.
- Experience with distributed systems, enterprise messaging systems, and/or microservices.
- Strong attention to precision and correctness in systems that calculate employee pay.
- Strong cross-team communication skills and enthusiasm for learning new technology.
