Responsibilities
- Lead validation of optical coherent pluggable firmware features and interoperability.
- Develop and execute test strategies for CMIS-compliant modules, including manual and automated testing.
- Enhance existing Python scripts and create new test cases for project requirements.
- Automate testing on the PACE test platform using Python, repositories, frameworks, and non-trivial scripts.
- Analyze test reports and allocate firmware bug responsibilities.
- Investigate customer-related issues in the laboratory.
- Provide reliable on-site support for the Ottawa optical Firmware System Integration Test lab, including setup of test equipment and optical components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testing workflows and efficiency.
- Document test procedures and results and track relevant industry trends.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of optical coherent technologies, including 400G/800G ZR/ZR+ systems.
- Solid experience validating firmware for optical coherent modules, including ZR/ZR+, DWDM, and CMIS-based pluggables.
- Proficiency in Python programming and knowledge of Python automation and test frameworks.
- Experience with data center networking or telecom systems.
- Hands-on experience with traffic generators, optical test equipment, and log analysis.
- Typically 7+ years of directly related experience.
- Graduate equivalent degree.
