Responsibilities
- Develop and extend distributed orchestration frameworks within the Kubernetes/Godel ecosystem.
- Optimize cluster utilization, load balancing, autoscaling, automatic parallelization, resource requests, preemption, rescheduling, and resource multiplexing across multi-datacenter, multi-region, and multi-cloud environments.
- Build distributed training runtimes and computing APIs for large-scale GPU training, hyper-scaled embeddings, reinforcement learning, fine-tuning, and distillation.
- Collaborate with platform teams to improve the diagnosability and usability of distributed training systems.
- Build distributed model-inference architecture for online learning and improve recommendation and advertising model architectures and MLOps workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong programming and coding experience in at least one modern language such as Golang or Python.
- Experience contributing to large-scale distributed and multi-tenant systems, including architecture, reliability, and scaling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, communication skills, self-motivation, engineering practices, and documentation skills.
- Preferred familiarity with large-scale distributed scheduling systems such as Kubernetes, Yarn, Flink, and Spark.
- Preferred familiarity with open-source orchestration frameworks such as VeRL, vLLM, Ray, and TFX.
