Responsibilities
- Lead ambiguous, consequential engineering initiatives from defining success through measurable outcomes.
- Improve Array’s architecture, platforms, and engineering practices for simplicity, maintainability, operability, and scale.
- Shape technical direction, provide recommendations, align teams, and turn technical strategy into execution.
- Coach senior engineers and teams through better decisions, reusable patterns, and technical leadership.
- Work across teams and domains without formal authority to address the highest-leverage engineering problems.
- Use code, architecture, data, and production systems to build context and credibility while enabling others when appropriate.
- Use AI tools as a regular part of thinking, building, and shipping.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Staff, Principal, or equivalent scope.
- Significant experience designing, building, and operating complex production systems across architecture, delivery, reliability, performance, and operations.
- Demonstrated increasing scope and leverage extending beyond personal code or an immediate team.
- Strong self-direction, ownership, proactive communication, and ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Ability to challenge assumptions, seek context, disagree constructively, and commit to decisions.
- Experience or inclination to use AI tools to accelerate engineering work.
