Base Salary

$141k - $183k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement production-grade AI agentic workflows and conversational AI solutions.
  • Build scalable, reliable AI agent architectures integrated with retail, inventory, customer data, and customer-facing channels.
  • Establish engineering standards, architecture patterns, and best practices for AI agent development.
  • Design AWS-based cloud-native solutions with API integrations, observability, monitoring, and enterprise scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance on prompt engineering, LLM integration, AI design patterns, and responsible AI practices.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and frameworks and make strategic adoption recommendations.
  • Collaborate with product, data science, engineering, architecture, customer experience, and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to the growth of United’s AI engineering capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience with strong Python development expertise.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying production AI/ML systems at scale.
  • Deep understanding of AI agent architectures, prompt engineering, and LLM integration patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, testing, and observability.
  • Ability to use software architecture design tools such as Lucid to create technical architecture diagrams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, hands-on LangChain and LangGraph experience, conversational AI platform experience, real-time and event-driven architecture experience, contact center or voice automation familiarity, 3+ years building Generative AI and Conversational AI platforms, AI evaluation and optimization experience, and knowledge of responsible AI and governance.
