Base Salary
$419k - $458k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and implementation of machine learning solutions powering search and recommendation systems.
- Set AI strategy and drive improvements across candidate generation, ranking, objective functions, and value delivery.
- Build and evolve infrastructure for training, serving, and evaluating traditional ML and generative AI models.
- Co-design model architectures and infrastructure with modelers, data and AI infrastructure engineers, and product teams.
- Lead engineers through technical direction and establish a culture of engineering excellence.
- Author technical specifications, make cross-team technical decisions, and translate research into Roblox products.
- Represent Roblox with industry and technical communities where applicable.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience delivering and improving large-scale search and recommendation systems.
- Experience building and launching large-scale machine learning models with billions of parameters in production.
- Experience breaking long-term product requirements into iterative deliverable stages.
- Ability to facilitate difficult technical decisions across multiple teams and organizations.
- Deep technical expertise with the ability to work across data and machine learning problems.
- Generalist capability and demonstrated mastery of multiple languages and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; MS or PhD is preferred.
- Creative, strategic, user-focused, and collaborative approach to solving complex technical problems.
