Base Salary
$150k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, integration, and adoption of shared platform capabilities across engineering teams.
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance TypeScript-based APIs and foundational services.
- Design and adopt event-based architectures for reliable, loosely coupled service communication.
- Own and evolve authentication and authorization, including third-party identity and partner integrations.
- Work with Ruby on Rails backend services and integrate shared capabilities into existing application infrastructure.
- Drive improvements to platform performance, reliability, security, and developer experience.
- Mentor engineers on API design, system design, and scalable architecture.
- Partner with Engineering and Product leadership on technical strategy for shared services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing modern APIs and distributed services.
- Hands-on experience with authentication and identity platforms, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SSO.
- Experience designing and operating event-based architectures.
- Experience building and maintaining TypeScript-based APIs and services.
- Strong technical design and architecture skills focused on scalable shared capabilities.
- Professional experience with AI-led agentic software development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
- Experience with modern software development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.
- Experience mentoring engineers and communicating complex technical subjects clearly.
- Proven ability to break complex platform initiatives into manageable, high-impact iterations.
- Preferred experience with AWS, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, BFF design patterns, API gateways, rate limiting, service-to-service security, and Ruby on Rails.
