Senior Staff Android Engineer
AlphaSenseResponsibilities
- Own Android app architecture, modular boundaries, and native engineering patterns across devices and form factors.
- Lead hands-on system design using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, coroutines, and modern Android architecture.
- Improve mobile testing, automation, observability, rollout practices, and AI-enabled validation for reliable releases.
- Align teams on API behavior, failure modes, authentication and session flows, performance, ownership boundaries, and mobile system contracts.
- Mentor mobile and adjacent technical teams while shaping engineering culture, system design standards, operational quality, and execution.
Requirements
- Deep production expertise in Android platform architecture, modular design, performance, security, reliability, Jetpack Compose, and modern Kotlin concurrency.
- Ability to reason across iOS constraints, backend APIs, authentication and session flows, release risks, device fragmentation, managed environments, and mobile service contracts.
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, AI harnesses, evaluation practices, or AI-driven testing systems.
- Experience with testing strategy, automation, observability, CI/CD, and production mobile quality practices.
- Track record of leading significant technical initiatives, setting engineering standards, mentoring engineers, and raising technical standards across teams.
- Strong product judgment and communication skills, including connecting technical decisions to customer outcomes and aligning teams through RFCs, ADRs, technical plans, or decision records.
- Preferred experience with foldables, managed Android devices, varied device configurations, enterprise mobile applications, MDM/EMM, or regulated customer environments.
- Preferred experience building or adopting production mobile design systems.
- Preferred experience contributing to backend services or APIs using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python.
