Responsibilities
- Build custom applications in ServiceNow, including data tables, user interfaces, business logic, workflows, and application modules.
- Integrate ServiceNow with third-party applications using web services, scripted REST APIs, and related web technologies.
- Customize ServiceNow applications, manage version upgrades, configure environments, and facilitate application rollouts with minimal operational disruption.
- Collaborate with ServiceNow administrators on solutions, updates, configuration changes, and client-requested integrations.
- Troubleshoot production issues involving custom ServiceNow applications, system integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
- Maintain and continuously improve development processes, standards, policies, methods, tools, and reliable reproducible environments.
- Ensure tool and configuration consistency across development, staging, testing, sandbox, and production environments.
- Provide ongoing production and end-user support, estimate work efforts, and recommend application software and integration tools.
- Develop software user manuals and technical reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field, or 6–7 years of knowledge of computer programming languages with at least 3 years of ServiceNow work experience.
- Strong understanding of the ServiceNow Development Platform, including custom development, platform capabilities, ITSM, ITOM, Dashboards and Reports, Performance Analytics, Knowledge Base, SOAR, and SecOps.
- Experience with ServiceNow custom applications, scripted REST APIs, third-party integrations, application configuration, workflows, and version upgrades.
- Programming proficiency in JavaScript, C#, ASP.NET, and related technologies, with working knowledge of at least two of Java/J2EE, C#/C++, VB/.NET, Perl, Python, SQL, or JavaScript/AJAX.
- Experience with XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, REST/SOAP, web services, and third-party controls.
- Fundamental knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP ports, firewalls, network protocols, and IP networks.
- Ability to lead product integrations, identify system deficiencies, recommend solutions, estimate work effort, and troubleshoot production problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare technical documentation and reports.
