Responsibilities
- Lead moderately complex software engineering initiatives and technical deliverables.
- Design, code, test, debug, document, upgrade, and deploy technology projects.
- Develop and maintain high-performance Java web applications for prime brokerage and capital markets.
- Lead technical design, application modernization, and technology transformation efforts.
- Resolve technical challenges, act as an escalation point, and guide less experienced staff.
- Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to meet client and business needs.
- Support systems involving trading, trade capture, clearing, settlement, market connectivity, risk, margin, order flow, and reporting.
Requirements
- 4+ years of specialty software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, or education.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is desired.
- Strong experience with Java, including Java 8 or later, Java web application development, and multithreading.
- Experience with Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Hibernate, SQL, and Oracle.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and AI tools and models for software development.
- Experience with DevOps tools including Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with React, Angular, or JavaScript, and exposure to Kafka or Redis for real-time data processing.
- Prime brokerage, capital markets, investment banking, equities, bonds, derivatives trading, trade capture, clearing, settlement, market connectivity, trading venues, risk and margin systems, order flow, or reporting experience is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, technical leadership, communication, and leadership skills.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience leading technology transformations or application modernization.
