Base Salary
$105k - $171k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide subject-matter expertise, guidance, and direction to software engineers developing embedded applications.
- Investigate root causes of complex issues and implement solutions independently or with multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop software for target hardware using computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles.
- Design and evaluate hardware-software interfaces, operational requirements, and overall system performance.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing across the software development life cycle.
- Develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Use modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experiments, prototype, and evaluate results.
- Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and repair defects.
- Develop embedded real-time software primarily in C/C++ and Python.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and an active Department of Defense Secret clearance are required.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is required.
- At least 6 years of experience developing applications on simulated and target hardware is required.
- Experience using a real-time operating system such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, or similar is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Preferred qualifications include object-oriented design and implementation, software modeling and UML tools, device driver and board support package development, modern C++ techniques, information assurance or cryptography, and NSA Type 1 or other software certification experience such as DO-178.
