Responsibilities
- Define and implement the end-to-end quality strategy for the telemetry and observability platform.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated functional, integration, system, and regression tests across the complete telemetry lifecycle.
- Build validation frameworks for telemetry pipelines, data quality, metrics, logs, traces, and time-series data.
- Create realistic test environments for large-scale distributed deployments and production-like workloads.
- Collaborate with software engineers to embed testability, reliability, and quality throughout design and implementation.
- Validate performance, scalability, resilience, and fault recovery under realistic operating conditions.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and improve coverage, execution time, and release quality.
- Investigate defects through root-cause analysis and work with engineering teams on complex system-level issues.
- Develop quality metrics, test reports, and release-readiness criteria.
- Improve testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–8 years of experience in Software QA, Test Automation, or Software Engineering.
- Experience designing automated test frameworks for distributed systems and building integration and system tests.
- Experience testing cloud-native or infrastructure software on Linux.
- Experience with Python programming, Kubernetes, Docker, containerized environments, and CI/CD testing pipelines.
- Understanding of distributed systems, networking, and API testing, including REST and gRPC APIs.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Desirable experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ClickHouse, Kafka, Elastic Stack, telemetry pipelines, time-series data, performance and resilience testing, Terraform, Ansible, AI infrastructure, HPC platforms, or cloud infrastructure.
- A further programming language such as Go or C++ and knowledge of metrics, logs, and distributed tracing are desirable.
