Base Salary
$231k - $323k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead coding, testing, and validation of vehicle-control software.
- Manage software field deployments and provide on-site and remote customer support.
- Derive and own software system requirements and schedules with stakeholders.
- Evaluate and improve system designs with a focus on robust autonomy.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineering managers, product management, and program management to develop products from concept through production.
- Write requirements and specification documents.
- Own the onboard classical perception and navigation capability from concept through field testing and flight operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- More than 10 years of hands-on software development experience for embedded platforms.
- Proficiency developing bare-metal applications in C/C++.
- Background in spaceflight avionics applications.
- Experience applying testing frameworks and conducting unit tests.
- Experience writing drivers for various sensors.
- Basic understanding of electromechanical systems, including motors, actuators, and controls.
- Experience creating autonomous safety-critical fault-recovery code and reliable software architectures for critical systems.
- Proficiency with Git version control.
- Understanding of Ethernet, USB, asynchronous serial, CAN, SPI, and I2C communication protocols.
- Familiarity with automated testing methodologies and continuous integration practices.
- Familiarity reading circuit schematics and performing basic hardware debugging.
- Preferred: experience operating remotely controlled missions with large latencies and working with GDS or other C2 systems.
- Preferred: familiarity with vision-based autonomy, hazard avoidance, localization, vehicle software, sensors, and camera systems.
- Preferred: proficiency building maintainable multithreaded and multiprocess applications in an RTOS environment and skilled Python scripting.
