Base Salary
$218k - $291k/yr
Responsibilities
- Author Architecture Decision Records and influence eBay technology strategy.
- Drive complex projects from inception through successful implementation.
- Design flexible application solutions that improve engineering velocity, performance, and security.
- Develop a long-term technology vision for modernizing systems.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement durable fixes across the platform.
- Uplevel teams through mentoring, coaching, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and improved engineering practices.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience in native mobile development.
- Expertise in advanced Swift features, including generics and concurrency management.
- Experience with iOS dependency management tools such as SPM, CocoaPods, or Carthage.
- Deep understanding of system design for large-scale consumer mobile applications.
- Advanced networking experience, including stack migration, GraphQL, Protobuf, streaming protocols, and publish-subscribe systems.
- Strong decision-making, ownership, communication, learning, mentoring, and coaching skills.
- Preferred experience building real-time user-facing systems where latency and errors materially affect trust and outcomes.
- Preferred experience with high-traffic, event-driven products, infrastructure capacity planning, traffic spikes, graceful degradation, WebSocket, and FGQL.
