Base Salary
$125k - $254k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable systems critical to customers.
- Build the real-time systems that track orders and communicate delivery timing.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers on delivery pricing, refunds, and money movement.
- Address scaling challenges and implement robust solutions.
- Promote strong coding practices and raise engineering standards.
- Mentor team members and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Kotlin, Java, or another object-oriented language.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, including schema design and optimization.
- In-depth understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and enterprise messaging.
- A proven record of delivering reliable services to production.
- Ability to work with partner APIs, real-world timing, and imperfect data.
- Ability to solve complex and ambiguous problems, communicate clearly, and share knowledge.
- Experience with logistics, mapping, payments, refunds, or financial reconciliation is a plus.
- Proficiency with modern web technologies and UI frameworks such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST, or GraphQL is a plus.
