
Mission Software Engineer

- Own feature development and software solutions deployed to customers.
- Write code that improves products and scales mission capabilities to additional customers.
- Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
- Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring.
- Triage issues, determine root causes, and coordinate next steps.
- Work with vehicle hardware teams, third-party platform teams, and operational subject matter experts to define and refine requirements.
- Write and maintain core libraries and services for collaborative teams of robots, including motion deconfliction and contingency management.
- Travel up to 20% of the time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments.
Requirements
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- At least 2 years of professional industry experience with C++ or Rust.
- Experience building software involving significant data processing and analysis.
- Ability to understand and navigate complex systems and established codebases quickly.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active UKSV Security Clearance.
- Preferred: background in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning for modeling and simulation.
- Preferred: experience developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems in real-world environments.
- Preferred: experience with feature and algorithm development and behavior trees.
- Preferred: experience developing software or hardware for flight systems and safety-critical functionality.
- Preferred: experience with distributed communication networks and message standards.
- Preferred: knowledge of military systems and operational tactics.
