Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate reliable cloud platforms across compute, networking, storage, stateful systems, and infrastructure control planes.
- Improve scalability, capacity management, workload isolation, recovery, and cost efficiency for critical production infrastructure.
- Build standardized infrastructure-as-code workflows and reusable automation for provisioning, testing, rollout, reconciliation, rollback, and drift prevention.
- Identify shared failure modes and implement safeguards against broad customer impact.
- Contribute to multi-account, multi-region, and isolated AWS architectures, including GovCloud environments.
- Participate in operational ownership and incident response, using incidents and near misses to drive architectural improvements.
- Lead complex technical initiatives, communicate architecture and migration plans, and mentor engineers across the organization.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience designing and building software, infrastructure, or distributed systems, including operating critical production systems.
- Deep expertise in at least one infrastructure domain: compute and workload orchestration, networking, storage and stateful systems, or cloud infrastructure control planes.
- Strong software-engineering fundamentals in Go, Python, Java, or a similar language.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating infrastructure on a major public cloud platform, with AWS preferred.
- Experience using infrastructure as code such as Terraform to manage production infrastructure safely.
- Strong understanding of capacity management, failure domains, observability, rollout safety, and production recovery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives across teams and ambiguous problem spaces.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with large-scale compute or container platforms such as ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, or similar systems.
- Preferred experience with stateful distributed systems such as Kafka, OpenSearch, managed databases, caching, or large-scale storage platforms.
- Preferred experience building internal infrastructure platforms, control planes, multi-account or multi-region architectures, disaster recovery systems, major infrastructure migrations, or developer self-service capabilities.
