Responsibilities
- Improve the reliability, availability, performance, scalability, resilience, and operational readiness of cloud-based applications and services.
- Design and maintain automation, infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, reusable tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and improve monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, production diagnostics, and automated recovery capabilities.
- Investigate complex production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements that prevent recurring failures.
- Identify reliability risks, operational gaps, technical debt, and cloud security issues, and implement appropriate improvements.
- Mentor engineers and influence engineering practices across multiple teams.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical disciplines operating production systems.
- Strong programming and scripting skills using Python, Ruby, Go, or equivalent technologies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, cloud services, distributed systems, resilience, recovery, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, incident investigation, root cause analysis, CI/CD, release management, rollback, and recovery practices.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure security, identity and access management, least privilege, network security, secrets management, secure configuration, and security practices in CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant cloud or engineering certifications are beneficial but not essential.
