Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and improve highly available and scalable infrastructure for business-critical applications.
- Build and operate AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes platforms, including reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD platforms, GitOps workflows, and developer self-service capabilities.
- Improve observability through monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing, and automation.
- Participate in SRE on-call rotations, lead critical incident response, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective improvements.
- Lead infrastructure modernization, platform migration, technology standardization, resilience, disaster recovery, and reliability initiatives.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure usage and costs while maintaining performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Partner with engineering and security teams on reliable architectures, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Mentor engineers, conduct technical and code reviews, and establish engineering standards across the SRE and wider engineering organization.
Requirements
- Strong software and systems engineering fundamentals with experience building and operating large-scale production systems in an enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating highly available AWS production environments.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS, including Kubernetes architecture, networking, workloads, security, and operations.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably with Terraform, using version-controlled and automated workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD and GitOps practices using GitHub Actions or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, proxies, firewalls, ingress, and cloud networking.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting and programming languages for automation and operational tooling.
- Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems and resolving production incidents across application, infrastructure, and networking layers.
- Strong understanding of SRE practices including SLOs, SLIs, incident management, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and reducing operational toil.
- Experience evaluating new technologies, automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve reliability and productivity.
- Experience leading infrastructure or platform initiatives and mentoring engineers, with the ability to own complex technical problems from design through production operation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills across multiple engineering and business teams.
