Responsibilities
- Lead a development team or engineering workstream and provide technical direction, delivery accountability, planning, mentoring, and coordination.
- Design, develop, modernize, and support enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, Angular or React, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL and Oracle SQL queries, data-access patterns, and relational data models.
- Lead application architecture, technical design decisions, engineering standards, code reviews, and reusable software practices.
- Guide unit, integration, regression, and automated testing and partner with DevOps teams on Jenkins-based build, test, deployment, and release pipelines.
- Incorporate secure development, vulnerability remediation, quality checks, and DevSecOps practices into engineering workflows.
- Investigate and resolve complex production incidents and performance issues using logs, traces, transaction data, and system metrics.
- Coordinate root-cause analysis and implement engineering changes that improve application reliability, resiliency, and observability.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience with advanced hands-on Java and Spring Boot expertise.
- Demonstrated experience leading a development team or technical workstream, including technical planning, mentoring, code reviews, and delivery coordination.
- Strong Angular or React and JavaScript experience building complex full-stack applications.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, enterprise integrations, distributed applications, PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL, and relational database design and optimization.
- Experience making application architecture and technical design decisions, establishing engineering standards, and troubleshooting complex production incidents and performance issues.
- Experience with automated testing, Git/GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, Agile environments, and DevSecOps environments.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, Splunk, New Relic, cloud-native applications, legacy application modernization, and federal mission-critical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain public trust clearance and must be a US citizen.
