Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, maintain, and modernize secure, scalable full stack enterprise web applications.
  • Build frontend interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and component-based frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Develop Python-based backend services, business logic, RESTful APIs, microservices, integrations, and data-access components.
  • Create generative AI and LLM applications, including RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling, structured outputs, intelligent search, summarization, classification, and workflow automation.
  • Design ingestion, preprocessing, transformation, metadata, validation, and retrieval pipelines for enterprise documents and structured data.
  • Work with relational databases, SQL, enterprise APIs, document repositories, object storage, search platforms, and cloud data services.
  • Deploy application components in AWS or Azure, containerize services with Docker, and collaborate with cloud and DevOps engineering teams.
  • Implement unit, integration, API, and automated tests; participate in code reviews, defect resolution, and technical design discussions.
  • Apply secure coding, authentication, authorization, secrets management, data protection, API security, federal compliance, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Use logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and troubleshooting practices to support operational readiness and performance.
  • Maintain technical documentation and work within Agile/Scrum teams on planning, refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Independently own complex features, contribute to design decisions, mentor less-experienced developers, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5–8 years of professional software development experience, including hands-on full stack application development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Strong backend development experience with Python, Java, and/or .NET technologies and enterprise application patterns.
  • Strong frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a modern component-based web framework.
  • Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and application data-access patterns.
  • Experience with Git, branching strategies, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, automated testing, and defect troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and application deployment practices.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum multidisciplinary development environments.
  • Experience with or willingness to work across LLM applications, RAG, embeddings, semantic search, vector databases, document processing, and AI guardrails.
  • Preferred experience with FDA, HHS, or other federal programs and with AWS or Azure enterprise application deployment.
  • Preferred experience with React or Angular; FastAPI, Spring Boot, ASP.NET Core, or comparable frameworks; Docker; Kubernetes; OAuth 2.0; OpenID Connect; role-based access control; observability; and DevSecOps.
  • Understanding of microservices, event-driven integration, enterprise application architecture, accessibility requirements, and federal web application standards is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance.
