Base Salary
$47k - $95k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, document, and improve components of AI-enabled applications, proofs of concept, prototypes, and reusable technical solutions.
- Build user-interface components, backend services, APIs, application logic, and integrations among AI services, databases, enterprise data sources, and application components.
- Integrate generative AI models and services and contribute to retrieval-augmented generation, enterprise search, intelligent assistants, and AI-enabled workflow automation.
- Prepare, transform, validate, and integrate data for AI-enabled applications.
- Support prompt development, model-output evaluation, retrieval testing, and refinement of AI-enabled user experiences.
- Write unit tests, perform functional testing, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain technical and deployment documentation.
- Collaborate with engagement teams, developers, data engineers, AI and machine learning specialists, designers, analysts, and clients.
- Apply development, security, privacy, accessibility, responsible AI, documentation, deployment, and maintainability practices.
- Communicate technical risks, dependencies, defects, questions, blockers, progress, and completed work to distributed teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related professional experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher.
- Relevant software, data, AI, analytics, or automation development experience through professional work, internships, academic projects, or comparable technical experience.
- Python coding experience and familiarity with a backend framework such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Experience with or exposure to JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, or Svelte.
- Familiarity with generative AI models, model APIs, large language model applications, or open-source AI frameworks.
- Working knowledge of APIs, application services, system integrations, SQL, databases, data ingestion, data transformation, and data quality.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or a comparable cloud platform.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, source control, testing, technical documentation, and deployment processes.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with nationally distributed teams.
- Preferred qualifications include generative AI prototypes or applications, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector databases, enterprise search, prompt development, Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI Service, Amazon Bedrock, cloud-native services, containers, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, infrastructure automation, open-source language models, model evaluation, agent-based applications, responsible AI, and government or regulated-environment experience.
Benefits
- Base salary ranges from $46,700 to $95,200 in most U.S. geographic locations and from $56,000 to $108,100 in the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California excluding Sacramento.
