Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain AI/ML-powered image analysis software for high-content microscopy and imaging platforms.
- Develop and optimize deep learning and image analysis algorithms for segmentation, feature extraction, classification, and phenotypic analysis.
- Build and support scalable, high-throughput computational pipelines for large imaging datasets.
- Establish software quality standards through validation, testing, documentation, version control, and reproducible development practices.
- Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and technology teams to translate research objectives into technical solutions.
- Support imaging data management, metadata standards, and long-term data accessibility and integrity aligned with FAIR data principles.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies in image analysis, machine learning, and computational imaging.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to scientific publications, presentations, and internal knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of scientific software development experience in an academic, research, or industry environment.
- At least 2 years of experience developing image analysis algorithms and computational workflows.
- Demonstrated expertise in Python software development.
- Experience designing, training, and deploying deep learning models using PyTorch.
- Experience with large-scale datasets and scalable computational pipelines.
- Experience with version control and collaborative software development practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with scientists and technical stakeholders.
- M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D., experience with 3D, organoid, or microscopy-based imaging, bioimage analysis tools, HPC, cloud or containerized environments, open-source scientific computing, and generative AI applications in scientific imaging.
