DevOps AWS Software Engineer III
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Build, operate, scale, and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure supporting containerized workloads on EKS and ECS.
- Provision and maintain infrastructure with Terraform and support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, rollbacks, and environment promotion.
- Implement operational best practices involving health checks, readiness, scaling, resiliency, observability, automation, and secure coding.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Administer Akamai CDN and Client Side Protection configurations, including caching, edge troubleshooting, web security controls, and certificate lifecycle activities.
- Create and maintain Splunk dashboards, alerts, monitoring, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and on-call playbooks.
- Participate in incident response, escalation, mitigation, stakeholder updates, root cause analysis, post-incident follow-up, and preventative remediation.
- Support peer reviews, risk assessment, pre- and post-change checks, maintenance windows, and disciplined incident and change management.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and container platforms, specifically EKS and/or ECS.
- Experience using Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools to provision and manage infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux, networking fundamentals, and application or runtime behavior.
- Working knowledge of incident and change management practices.
- Scripting or automation experience with Bash, Python, Perl, or comparable tools, plus CI/CD tooling exposure.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations, with the ability to guide peers.
- Understanding of application resiliency and security practices.
- Preferred practical experience in system design, application development, testing, operational stability, Splunk, Akamai CDN and CSP implementation, automation, continuous delivery, and operation of AI-enabled services or pipelines.
- AWS certification such as Cloud Practitioner or higher is preferred.
