$200k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale RESTful backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Postgres.
- Develop distributed and resilient systems in AWS and Kubernetes environments.
- Create shared infrastructure services and tooling used across Altruist’s product teams.
- Mentor teams on secure coding practices and help ensure performant, resilient code.
- Use automated testing practices to maintain high-quality software.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams on technical solutions.
- Own the design and implementation of projects with a high degree of autonomy.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building scalable backend services at a B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS organization.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
- Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong SQL knowledge, including Postgres and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Understanding of performant and reliable systems.
- A relevant B.A. or B.S. degree is preferred, though equivalent experience and understanding are valued.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, Temporal, and Snowflake.
- Bonus experience with AI best practices, particularly Claude, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery; GitLab pipelines are a plus.
- Familiarity with Debezium, Temporal, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of brokerage platforms and the financial services industry.
- Strong ownership, communication, resilience, assurance, and creative problem-solving abilities.
