Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale robust backend services and solutions.
- Deliver product roadmap features and own them end-to-end through production.
- Design and evolve distributed microservices, including service boundaries, API contracts, and resilience.
- Run services using Docker and Kubernetes in AWS or a similar cloud environment.
- Diagnose production issues and improve observability, latency, scalability, and availability.
- Set technical direction, make pragmatic architecture decisions, and raise engineering standards across teams.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other engineers.
Requirements
- Excellent Java programming skills and significant experience with the Spring ecosystem.
- Commercial experience with SQL and database schema design.
- Experience designing and evolving microservices and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or a similar cloud environment.
- Ability to make sound trade-offs involving latency, scalability, and availability.
- Ability to work autonomously, own features end-to-end, and communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
- A product mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide technical leadership.
- Experience with Python, FastAPI, and LLM APIs is a plus.
- Experience with voice AI models is a plus.
- Experience with agentic AI workflows for software development is a plus.
