Base Salary
$135k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Learn and adapt an existing software codebase.
- Collaborate with controls, mechanical, and software engineers to design, build, and iterate robotic prototypes.
- Design and lead experiments to characterize system performance, accuracy, and reliability.
- Refine prototype software into robust, production-quality code.
- Architect clean, modular, testable software interfaces and system designs for a distributed robotic platform.
- Contribute to long-term software architecture and platform strategy.
- Develop and maintain formal design control documentation in compliance with medical device standards.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in C++, object-oriented programming, software architecture design, and testing.
- Strong working knowledge of robotics algorithms, including forward kinematics.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with technical ownership.
- Flexibility to contribute across different areas of the codebase with a full-stack mentality.
- Master’s degree or PhD in computer science or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
- Preferred qualifications include four years of software application development, Linux development, medical-device software, formal requirements and testing documentation, GUI development with Qt/QML, OpenGL and 3D rendering, and state estimation and sensor fusion algorithms.
