Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and own software technologies and capabilities for Alexa Shopping programs.
- Define product features, system architecture, design principles, and engineering best practices for strategic initiatives.
- Develop scalable, performant, secure, and reliable software solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
- Write documented code, participate in code reviews, coach teammates, and mentor junior engineers.
- Support deployment and operations, investigate root causes, and permanently resolve software issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize work and deliver customer-facing improvements.
- Evaluate tools and approaches, including generative artificial intelligence, to improve engineering workflows.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
