Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
- Build secure, reliable, and scalable mobile functionality for HYPR’s authentication and identity platform.
- Participate in architecture and technical design for new Android features and capabilities.
- Integrate Android applications with backend services using HTTP and REST APIs.
- Integrate and maintain third-party libraries and SDKs and develop reusable libraries and components.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and production issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and development practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, and other teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Use Git to manage and review code.
- Contribute to technical documentation and project planning using Jira and Confluence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong experience developing Android applications with Java and Kotlin.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
- Strong knowledge of Android architecture, application design patterns, and Android development best practices.
- Experience integrating and developing third-party libraries and SDKs.
- Experience working with HTTP and REST APIs.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for complex issues.
- Ability to articulate technical challenges, solutions, tradeoffs, and recommendations.
- Experience using source control tools such as Git.
- Experience in collaborative, team-based engineering environments.
- Experience with project management and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Preferred experience in cybersecurity, identity, authentication, or IAM.
- Preferred knowledge of cryptography and authentication protocols, particularly FIDO/FIDO2.
- Preferred experience with WebAuthn, passkeys, passwordless authentication, public-key cryptography, mobile application security, or secure coding practices.
- Preferred experience developing or maintaining Android SDKs or libraries used by other applications.
