Base Salary
$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement features in Openflow’s control and data planes.
- Build and evolve distributed systems for batch and streaming workloads.
- Own medium-sized projects end to end, from requirements to rollout.
- Take operational ownership of components, including monitoring and incident response.
- Apply solid engineering practices, including clean code and robust testing.
- Collaborate with peers to translate requirements into technical plans.
- Analyze and improve performance, scalability, and reliability of services.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing code reviews and feedback.
- Contribute to shared platform tooling and patterns for high-quality connectors.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building and operating backend or platform services.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and systems design.
- Practical experience with distributed systems concepts and their implications.
- Solid understanding of operating systems and networking basics.
- Proficiency in Java or a similar object-oriented language.
- Experience building cloud-native services on major cloud providers.
- Track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable engineering solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Bonus: Experience with data integration or streaming technologies.
